Volvo EX30 Because Nothing Screams "Future" Like a YouTube Star and a Brainiac Streamer
YouTube sensation Lasizwe Dambuza and neuroscientist-slash-streamer Thea Booysen is the EX30's official hype crew
Volvo South Africa is really out here redefining the future of electric cars by appointing YouTube sensation Lasizwe Dambuza and neuroscientist-slash-streamer Thea Booysen as the EX30's official hype crew. Because apparently, the future is all about influencers and brainiacs. Who knew?
Lasizwe, straight off his hit show "Awkward Dates," is poised to bring his signature awkward charm to the EX30. Maybe he'll help add that missing "entertainment factor" to Volvo's typically “snooze-inducing marketing”. Meanwhile, Thea, with her impressive neuroscience background, is here to make sure we all understand the deep, brainy connection between electric cars and... something smart-sounding. Don’t worry, Volvo swears it’s all part of their sustainable and innovative vibe, even if it sounds like a mad lib gone wrong.

The EX30 itself? Surprisingly less cringe than its marketing gimmick. It’s got that futuristic look, a price tag starting at R775,900 (because who needs both kidneys, right?), and a make-up smudging 0-100km/h time of 3.6 seconds – just in case you need to escape from one of those awkward dates really, really fast.
Inside, you’ll find "natural and recycled leather-free materials," which is eco-speak for "stuff your vegan friend will love." But hey, it's sustainable, and that’s what counts, right? Plus, you can customize the heck out of it with various upholstery and color options to match your unique persona – or just to distract from the fact that it’s basically a four-wheeled virtue signal.

Oh, and in case you’re worried about missing out on your daily dose of digital dopamine, Volvo’s got you covered with built-in Google services. Perfect for livestreaming your latest misadventures or documenting every cringe-worthy date for your followers.
So, if you’re in the market for an electric car with a hefty side of social media clout and a sprinkle of scientific legitimacy, the Volvo EX30 might just be your ride. Just don’t come crying to us when your next date ends up on Lasizwe’s YouTube channel.
